March 10, 1789
March 10, 1789, the construction of the Juan Diego Hut is approved: by Alonzo Nuñez de Haro y Peralta, Archbishop of Mexico, it was built on the hut where Juan Diego lived with his uncle Juan Bernardino in 1531, on the occasion of the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition. Although there is no exact date of its construction, it is known that by 1803 Our Blessed Mother was already receiving worship. This hermitage fell due to old age in 1910. It is known that there was previously another chapel there, also fallen due to time, according to Garibi Tortolero.
September 6, 1947
September 6, 1947, the Reconstruction of the Hermitage of the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition was ordered: which was blessed on December 12 of the same year by Mr. Dr. D. Luis María Martínez, Archbishop of Mexico, great promoter of the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition in Tulpetlac.
January 1948
January 1948 the Hermitage becomes a Sanctuary: approved by Mr. Luis María Martínez. Also approving the construction of a new temple, due to the numerous faithful who began to gather in Tulpetlac to honor the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition in Tulpetlac. Finally, in the words of Bishop María Martínez: “to express gratitude to the Blessed Virgin for having cured Juan Bernardino and for having declared the name of Guadalupe.” This second approval was preceded by a meticulous study promoted by Bishop María Martínez, carried out by prominent Guadalupana historians who reached a conclusion favorable to Tulpetlac, as the place where Juan Diego lived when the apparitions occurred.
March 16, 1949
March 16, 1949, the Plenary Indulgence is granted in Perpetuity: by Pope Pius XII for those who visit the Sanctuary on the 12th of each month and comply with the usual conditions. This grace was promoted by Mons. María Martínez, who had not been able to grant a stable priest for this place that he loved so much.
December 12, 1956
December 12, 1956 the Blessing of the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition was carried out: by the Hon. Mr. Miguel Darío Miranda y Gómez, Primate Archbishop of Mexico, who eulogized the residents of Tulpetlac with the following words: “this temple will be a monument to your faith, and when future generations look at it, they will recognize the example of love to the Virgin of Guadalupe.”
September 30, 1960
September 30, 1960, Fr. Enrique Amezcua Medina visits Tulpetlac for the first time: performing his service in the Basilica of Guadalupe as choir chaplain representing the ecclesiastical province of Michoacan, he is invited by his friend, the engineer D. Carlos Diez de Sollano. Moved by the spiritual abandonment of such a place, he offers the Holy Virgin to work for the dignity of the Sanctuary of her place where she appeared for the fifth time. After visiting a couple more times, he celebrated Mass for the first time in the Sanctuary on October 12 of that same year, the date on which the Guadalupe holy year instituted by His Holiness John XXIII begins.
January 8, 1961
January 8, 1961, the parish of Cristo Rey and Santa María de Guadalupe canonically erected by the bishop of Texcoco, Don Francisco Ferreira y Arreola. Father Enrique Amezcua Medina, until that day chaplain of the Choir of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, takes office. Following the itinerary of the Virgin of Guadalupe: Tepeyac-Tulpetlac. This town, where Juan Bernardino in his agony asked for a priest to help him, and where Juan Diego left in search of a priest for his aunt in 1531, lived 150 years of priestly orphanhood, since the beginning of national independence in 1810, lacked stable priest. It was a priestly grace granted through Santa María de Guadalupe, the erection of the first-born parish of the diocese of Texcoco.

October 12, 1961 Blessing of the painting Our Lady “Health of the Sick” carried out by Fr. Miguel Anguiano, former Cristero general and rector of the Texcoco seminary at that time, representing the bishop of Texcoco, closing date of the Guadalupe holy year. This Image is the work of the inspired Guadeloupean painter Luis Toral.

September 12, 1963, the Confraternity Operarios del Reino de Cristo was founded in the Basilica of Guadalupe, a work that has been developed around the Sanctuary of the Fifth Apparition in Tulpetlac, by Father Enrique Amezcua Medina, D. Abraham Martínez Betancourt and Mr. Manuel Pío López.

December 12, 1964, the Blessing of the Fountain of Health was carried out: by D. Francisco Ferreira, Bishop of Texcoco. Asking St. Mary of Guadalupe to welcome the water of that Fountain as an instrument of her love and mercy towards her children. The water was located in that key site of the Sanctuary by the Hon. Mr. Luis Guízar Barragán, bishop of Saltillo. 12 de diciembre de 1964 se realiza la Bendición de la Fuente de la Salud: por D. Francisco Ferreira, Obispo de Texcoco. Pidiendole a Sta. María de Guadalupeque acoja el agua de esa Fuente como instrumento de su amor y de su misericordia para con sus hijos. El agua fue localizada en ese sitio clave del Santuario por el Excmo. Sr. D. Luis Guízar Barragán, obispo de Saltillo.

December 4, 1966 Solemn delivery of the Guadalupana Rose to Tulpetlac (replica of the Golden Rose that Paul VI gave to the Basilica) a sign of affection and esteem for the Sanctuary of the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition in Tulpetlac. Delivered by Mr. Cardinal Don Luigi Raimondi to the Bishop of Texcoco.

December 9, 1966 Entrustment of the reconstruction, expansion and care of the Sanctuary: to Father Enrique Amezcua and his foundation Confraternidad Operarios del Reino de Cristo (CORC), by Mr. Francisco Ferreira. This foundation to this day continues to serve and care for the Sanctuary of the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition.

October 10, 1968, Diocesan coronation of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Health of the Sick, by Don Francisco Ferreira y Arreola, bishop of Texcoco, assisted by Don Manuel Pío López, bishop of Xalapa and by Don José Abraham Martínez, bishop of Tacámbaro. Date on which Father Enrique Amezcua Medina celebrated his Silver Jubilee.

August 1976 began the remodeling and expansion works of the Sanctuary, with Mr. Engineer Mr. Raúl Camba, Mr. Architect Mr. Eduardo Morales and Mr. Mr. Eduardo Morales being in charge of the work. Erasmo Martínez, from the OCAZA construction company. On these dates, due to such remodeling, some children of the town express harsh opposition against Father Enrique Amezcua, from attempts at imprisonment to death threats, black pages are written in the Guadalupana history of Tulpetlac.

December 16, 1979, the Pontifical Coronation of the image of the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe “Health of the Sick” was carried out by Mr. Cardinal D. Ernesto Corripio Ahumada (granted by John Paul II). Where miraculously during the celebration the womb of the Virgin Mary was illuminated by a ray of sunlight.
In 1998
In 1998, the last renovations were carried out in the presbytery of the Sanctuary, with marble finishes, as we know it now. The altar being consecrated in 2019 by Monsignor Don Oscar Roberto Domínguez, Bishop of Ecatepec.
